The Dell XPS 700 is certainly not about to win any beauty contests, with its jet-engine design, and it’s not going to be making any trips to any LAN parties, what with being about 75-pounds and cumbersome to carry. Still, it’s an impressive gaming rig, with Intel Core2 Duos under the hood, an SLI motherboard and an array of impressive video cards that you can purchase with the computer. You definitely pay for the power inside this formidable case, with the rig that [H] Consumer tested running about $2900 dollars.
[H] Consumer walked through the recieving process, how well the system was packed and recieved, and promptly opened the package to take a peek in the case to get up and close with the components. The reviewers give us a feel for how sturdy they thought the system was, construction-wise, and then power it up to see how it handles its first boot. Then, of course, they go on to test what’s important when buying a gaming rig: How it handles when you fire up your favorite games!
The [H] Consumer crew do some benchmarking in Age of Empires II, Oblivion, Fear, Prey, and more-some pretty demanding titles, and the results are impressive. They went on to give Dell’s tech support a good test, and draw some conclusions about the system. Head on over to see the full review!
